PenFed Foundation and Humble Design Help a Veteran in Need

Humble Design and PenFed Foundation

Humble Design and PenFed Foundation recently teamed up to furnish a home for a family in need. “No American—particularly one who has served in uniform—should have to go without a place to call home," said PenFed Foundation President and CEO James Schenck. “There are plenty of organizations such as Humble Design that want to help, and the PenFed Foundation is playing a key role by bringing them together to ensure more veterans are able to secure their finances and find safe places to live.”

PenFed Foundation Presents Nebraska Organizations $18,000

During the grand opening of PenFed Credit Union's first branch in Nebraska, the PenFed Foundation showed its support for local area organizations. A total of $18,000 was presented to American Legion Post 339, the Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home, the Offutt Air Force Base Top 3 Association, and Papillion-La Vista School Foundation. The first three donations represented proceeds from PenFed’s first Omaha golf tournament hosted by the credit union’s charitable arm, the PenFed Foundation, in order to benefit military community members and the organizations that support them.

Disabled American Veterans Program


With grant funds from the Disabled American Veterans Charitable Trust, the PenFed Foundation launched a partnership with the Disabled American Veterans to provide emergency financial assistance and financial counseling services to veterans from all wars and all eras.

This program expands upon the existing Military Heroes Fund program. This enables us to offer financial support and counseling services to veterans of all wars, all eras—effectively supporting all of our Nation’s heroes.

Innospec Proudly Supports Our Military Heroes Fund


Innospec, customers and suppliers demonstrate ongoing support for PenFed Foundation Military Heroes Fund. Nearly $70,000 was raised and donated to the Foundation as a result of a golf tournament hosted by Innospec in Colorado this August. To read more click here

  • Avoid predatory payday lenders. Our ARK program helps active military who need a loan up to $500 with a fee of just $5.
  • Recover from an emergency. Our Military Heroes Fund gives emergency assistance to military members who have served since 2001 in Iraq or Afghanistan. 
  • Stay at a free hotel while receiving medical care. The Lee & Penny Anderson Defenders Lodge serves service members and veterans undergoing treatment at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Palo Alto, Calif. 
  • Buy their first home. Our Dream Makers program provides a $5,000 grant to first-time home buyers for their down payment and closing costs. .
