About the Hero at Home Video Contest
The PenFed Foundation held a video contest to find a caregiver of a wounded veteran who will be honored as the “hero at home” at its Eighth Annual Night of Heroes Gala this May.
We are honored to recognize the caregivers who sacrifice to care for our nation's wounded. To those that entered: thank you for sharing your stories through video with us. The winner and service member will receive an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., and receive the “Hero at Home” award at the PenFed Foundation’s Eighth Annual Night of Heroes Gala on May 24, 2012 and the winner will receive a $1,500 American Express gift card. This year’s gala will honor family and friends who have cared for or are currently caring for a wounded service member or veteran while they are recuperating from the hospital or after they have returned home.
Deadline
Entries will no longer be accepted. Five finalists will be announced on April 16. The winner will be officially announced on April 23, 2012.

Contest Rules
By entering the contest, you grant The Pentagon Federal Credit Union Foundation (PenFed Foundation) a perpetual, royalty-free license to use your video, in any media, or online format. You grant the PenFed Foundation permission to edit, modify, format, or adapt your video for the PenFed Foundation’s purposes at its sole discretion. Except for listed prize awarded to the winner of the video contest, no other compensation in any manner will be paid to any entrant of the video contest for the submission or for the foundation’s future use of the video in any manner. If you want to remove your video from the competition, you may do so by requesting the PenFed Foundation delete your video from its competition prior to April 12, 2012. Only one video per person may be submitted.

Eligibility to Win
To be eligible to enter to win, you must be a citizen 18 years of age or older of the United States, Puerto Rico or the other U.S. territories. Employees of the PenFed Foundation, their relatives, and PenFed Foundation contractors are not eligible to enter the contest.
No purchase or payment is necessary to enter to win. To be eligible to win, all participants must “like” the PenFed Foundation on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/pentagonfoundation. The winner and service member must also be available to fly to Washington, D.C. and attend the PenFed Foundation’s Eighth Annual Night of Heroes Gala the week of May 21, 2012.
Contest Timeframe
The contest will begin on March 1, 2012 and end on April 12, 2012, 11:59 p.m. EST. To be eligible to win all videos must be submitted during this time. No videos submitted after this time will be accepted or considered.
Requirements
Winner Selection
The PenFed Foundation shall select the finalists of the contest in its sole discretion. After the contest submission date closes, videos will be judged by judges selected by the PenFed Foundation to determine if the videos present accurate information and comply with the requirements of the contest. Those videos that do not comply will be disqualified. All other videos will advance to second round of judging where the videos will be rated by a judging committee selected by the PenFed Foundation. The videos will be judged on message, accuracy, appropriateness, theme, creativity, and how compelling the story is. The judging committee will narrow down the videos to the top five finalists who will be featured on the PenFed Foundation YouTube finalist’s page at http://bit.ly/heroathomefinalists for the final round where the public will help select the winner. The final winner will be announced and notified on April 23, 2012. The winner and service member will receive an all-expense-paid-trip to Washington, D.C. and receive the “Hero at Home” award at the PenFed Foundation’s Eighth Annual Night of Heroes Gala on May 24, 2012 and the winner will receive a $1,500 American Express gift card. The winning video will also be posted on the PenFed Foundation’s website http://www.penfedfoundation.org as well as used in other marketing efforts.
Privacy
The personal information you submit on the entry form will only be used to contact you in the event you win the contest or if there is a question or issue regarding your video or its content. We will not disclose, give, sell, or transfer any personal information about you, unless required for law enforcement or by statute. As your video will be made available to the public, you should not include personal information which you do not want to disclose about yourself or anyone else. All information collected on the entry form will be deleted at the conclusion of the contest. The PenFed Foundation is using YouTube to host the videos for this contest. You are subject to YouTube's use, privacy, cookie, and security provisions http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/t/privacy.
Limitations of Liability
This contest is subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations. It is void where prohibited. Any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but in no event attorneys’ fees. Any and all disputes arising from this contest will be resolved individually without resorting to any form of class action lawsuit.
General Release
By entering this contest, entrants agree to allow the PenFed Foundation to use submissions in future promotions, emails and other marketing communications except where prohibited by law.
